Have you moved houses before?

On Saturday the 19th of March, I was helping my family to move everything from our old house. I was very excited, I was doing my job quickly because I wanted to move into the house right away.

While we were grabbing the items from the lounge, I tried to catch my breath but I couldn't because the items were really heavy. I kept on asking if we could have a little break, but they said "We need to get these things in the car because we only have this week to take all the things from here to the new house." I tried my best to catch my breath. I took five more deep breaths, but it did not work.

Then my parents and I went to the new house to take all the things and put them in the garage. My mum and I stayed there while the others went back to bring the rest of the things over. I felt a bit nervous staying at the new house because it is unfamiliar to me. However I'm sure I will get used to it soon. My mum asked me if I wanted to stay and I said, "Yes." Then my dad left with the trailer to go back to our old house. My mum and I talked about where we should put some of our things.

My mum and I discussed which room we wanted and we chose the big room for us my sister Anna my cousin and I to sleep in. Soon my dad and the others came back and I had to go and open up the garage to place all the things inside. My dad made more trips back and forth. Soon, the garage was filled with our things and it was getting dark so I said to my mum, "I think this is enough for tonight because the garage is very full."

Then my dad came back with my cousin and a pot of food for our dinner. After that my sister and my other siblings arrived and we had dinner together. my sister and I had to sit on the ground because all the chairs were taken. We had teriyaki chicken, steamed  kumara and fish and chips. I was the first person to be finished eating. I asked my parents if we could all have our first night at the new house to see  how it feels. Mum and dad agreed to what I suggested.

So we all stayed over and had a great laugh before we went to sleep. We all woke up the next morning and went outside to see who was around and it was our neighbours. They have three children and we introduced ourselves to each other. I really enjoyed sleeping over at the new house because it felt was as if we were sleeping at the old house. Another favourite part of the sleepover for me was  I had a great loud hiccups and a loud sneeze. It was so funny that we all had a good laugh.

I can not wait for another session of tennis!

On Friday the 18th of March, Room 7 and I had our third session of tennis. I learnt how to serve with my partner. James told us to throw the ball above my head and catch it with one hand. We all served the ball back and forth to our partner and it was like playing a real game of tennis. We all kept tossing the ball up high. I had to try and hit the ball on the frame of the racket, but I couldn’t because the frame was really thin. We also learnt how to throw the ball straight so that it will be straight when we hit. I had a really fun time playing tennis. My favourite part was when I was trying to hit the ball using the frame because it was challenging. I was a bit sad about not getting any point, but it was still a lot of fun!

Best family dinner that I've been to!

On Saturday my family and I had the biggest family dinner ever at Gingis Khan in Manukau because it was my brother inlaw's birthday. I was so happy because there was a long set of stairs for us to get to the food that was on the bottom floor. We filled up the space on the top floor.

We had a plan and the plan was that I would switch on the bright light! and everyone would shout "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"! That would be the start of a noisy surprise. When the clock hit 6:30, the birthday and the delicious, big, brown cake had been blessed by my uncle Moti. Then the birthday boy cut the delicious piece  cake.

Then my uncle Moti said a food grace for us through the form of a song. Then it was time for everyone to get their food. I got chips and chicken, but I only got little bit because I wanted to get the birthday boys delicious blue cake. When I got my food, I looked at my cousin and she asked me, "Why are you eating so little?." I rushed to eat my food very quickly because I wanted to be the first one to have the delicious blue cake. I got hiccups from eating to fast.

When it was desert time, my aunt called the birthday boy to come and cut the cake. I was very excited for the cake because I was hoping that I would get a big piece or get the first piece. My favourite part was when we made the plan so that we could shout as loud as we could. It felt like I was the loudest. Another favourite part of the was for me was when I had the hiccups because I ate too fast. The sounds that I made were loud and funny. I had such a great laugh about it.

I love chicken soup!

On Saturday my family and I had a big family feed at my Uncles house in Pakuranga. My aunty called for us to go over. My aunty said that we will have a meeting and also a family feed.

When we arrived, my aunty shouted ''Quickly, the meeting will be starting soon.'' We rushed  inside the house and my uncle started our opening prayer. It was a song and it was translated in Tongan. The song was called 'Our Father.' My uncle was the priest for the day, so he lead us with our prayers. All of our opening prayers were translated in Tongan because some of our family members couldn't speak or understand English.

Next, while my uncle said our food grace, my mum, aunties, cousins, and I helped to get the food ready so when the karakia ended we served the food straight away so they won't have to wait for their food. When we were serving the food they told me that it was very tiring serving the food all the way to the lounge because they wanted to eat in the kitchen. We had chicken soup with casava and kumara for lunch.

After that we played on the PS3. I asked if I could go first. I played NBA with my cousins while the adults were having a laugh in the lounge waiting got my other siblings to arrive. I lost the game, but I still had fun. My cousin was shouting and dancing because he wont the game.

After our game, I saw my brother holding a baby and when I looked closely it was my nieces Aavery and Melanie. I asked if I could hold them both, but Melanie didn't want me to hold her so I held Aavery. Soon we went to my mum to ask for some food so we could fee Aavery and Melanie.

After we got the food it was time for my brother to feed my nieces. Out of blue, my mum shouted ''Come here and help your aunty do the dishes.'' I helped with drying the dishes and my funny cousin put the dishes away with my other cousin. There was a lot of dishes to do so we were very tired at the end.

At the end of the day, we all said a big ''THANK YOU!'' to my aunty and uncle for making the food for us. We also said another big ''THANK YOU!'' for letting us play on the PS3. After that when we arrived home, I also did the dishes, with my mum and my sister.

My favourite part of the day was when I was playing in the PS3 with my cousins because it was a fun competition.
