I love going to my uncle's house on the weekend!

On Sunday afternoon, my uncles, aunties, cousins, sisters, mum, dad and I all gathered at my uncle's house
to have dinner together. My family and I always gather at my uncle's house every Sunday after church.

When my mum, dad, sister and I arrived, it was only the household people that were inside the house. As soon as I walked inside, I went to the lounge and sat on the couch with my uncle. We watched T.V together. After I sat down my dad, mum and sister went past us. My dad came to the lounge while my mum mum and sister walked to the kitchen to look for my aunty. We watched a fighting programme called WWE.

After a while, my aunty (my mum's sister) arrived with her kids and her husband. when they walked past the lounge, I walked to the kitchen because it was getting stuffy as the lounge is small. They came with some food for all of us for dinner. As more and more people came, the noise got louder and louder. My uncle, his wife and the children were the last to arrive. They brought dinner as well.

Soon it was time for us to prepare dinner. Each one of us who were in the kitchen had a part to play so that the food can be prepared quickly. After the men's food was ready, the ladies and the children helped themselves to some food. As soon as everyone got their food, my uncle said food grace for us and then everyone ate the delicious food.

When everyone finished eating, my aunty did the dishes while the children collected the plates from the lounge. There was a lot of dishes for my aunty to wash as the table was filled with dishes. While my aunty was doing the dishes, all the children sat on the ground in the hallway where it was very hard and uncomfortable.

Next, my cousin was called to go and sit in the lounge and say his speech that he prepared for his 21st birthday. It was so sad that his speech made most of us cry. We were all so impressed of him. His dad whispered to him and told him to make it short. Then everyone started giving him suggestions of what might happen to him on his birthday.

Before long, it was time for us to leave to go home and get some rest. Just before everyone went outside to put on their shoes, we went and gave a three-second kiss to my uncle. I had so much fun at my family gathering at my uncle's house.

Let's go shopping!

Image result for Clothes kids cartoonDuring the weekend, my cousin and I went to the warehouse to buy some clothes for ourselves because we earned some money for doing chores for my sister. We were so excited about shopping for our clothes because she said that we could buy anything that we wanted.

We walked and walked until we got to the clothing section. She told me to go to the entrance and grab a trolley so that we didn't have to hold the clothes while we were shopping. While I was gone, she counted how long it took me to get the trolley. She said that I only took a minute. I  looked for her and I saw her waving at me. It took me a little while to spot her.

We chose a lot of beautiful clothes. We chose jeans that were fitting and smooth. We chose T-shirts that had sloping letters that we couldn't read. My cousin whispered to me, "We are not going to to share our clothes to anyone." I laughed so loud that  the people from the other side could hear me.

Next we went to the footwear section. We tried on the shoes that we liked before we placed them into the trolley. The shoes were beautiful because the colours matched with the clothes that we chose. Both of us said, "You suit that!" to each other when we tried on the shoes. After a while, my cousins' phone rang and it was my aunty. She was screaming on the phone so loud that my cousin hung up the phone while she was talking.

After that we went to the counter so that we could pay for the items that we have chosen.  The lady scanned our items very quickly and we whispered, quietly to each other and said, "I want to do that!" Just then, the phone rang, but my cousin just left the phone ringing and she was a bit embarrassed because people were looking at her.

When we went back to the car, my aunty was so jealous that she said she will steal our clothes when it is on the washing line. As soon as we arrived back home we sneaked back to the room where we sleep and hid the clothes and shoes inside our cupboard. I laughed quietly so that my sister (who was next door) wouldn't hear us.

I felt happy because I now have more clothes and shoes to wear.

Oh no, it is our last Netball session!

Image result for netball ballsIt was a cloudy day on Friday the 27th of May when Room 7 had our last session of Netball.  I was so excited about learning more skills of Netball.

For our warm up, we jumped three times in different directions. It was very hard for me because we had to keep going until we completed the task. Tina said, “It was a fail, but that is okay.”

Next, we went straight into a game. Anna and Tina gave us each a position to play as. A team belonged to Tina and the other belonged to Anna. Tina had team Gold.  We were quickly organised into our positions and my opponent was Xyril.

Soon our game started. The first two goals went to team Gold. I tried my best to try and stick to my partner so that when his teammates try to pass the ball to him, I can defend it and pass it down to our team shooter Soane. When the ball was in play, both teams ran quickly to get the ball. We all tried our best defending the other team.

After our game, Tina told us to stand together so that we could take a photo. We all had a big smile on our faces when we took the photo. I felt very down because it was our last session. We all said “Goodbye!” to our coach Tina and her sister Anna.

I really enjoyed our Netball sessions and my favourite part was when we played the game of Netball because it was a lot of fun putting our skills to practise.

Oops! We finished the fruits!

On Saturday, my two cousins, one aunty, my uncle, my two sisters, my mum and I went in our eight seat van. My elder sister was our driver. I was very excited that the radio was on and my cousin (male) and I sang along to the beat of the music. We went for a fun day out because my uncle wanted to spend more time with us and to know us a little bit more because he just came back from America.

First we went to the mangere fair to buy some fruit. My two sisters went to buy watermelon, oranges and apples. They looked very fresh when they brought it in the van. After my cousin and I were handed in the oranges, we sat at the back of the van and started to eat all the fruits, we were the first ones to eat them. We were so full after all.

After that, my uncle asked us if we wanted McDonald's but we told him that we wanted Carl's Jr. So my sister turned the car around to go to Carl's Jr. We all had different shakes, burgers and seats to sit on. We waited for the food that we ate to digest.

Next we went for a short ride around town. We wanted to go to the top floor of the sky tower but it was closed by the time we have arrived. Our ride was only fifteen minutes but I almost fell asleep. It felt longer than fifteen minutes because there was long ques.

Then we went back to my uncle's house to spend the the rest of the night. My uncle let us try out his new motorbike. I was very scary because it went as fast like a cheetah. I was a long ride for me and I felt the ride ended very dizzy.

I had a lot of fun playing with my favourite cousins and we played until it was dark. We played tag, touch, rugby and fake shouting.

I really like the music video that my cousins and I made!

Image result for music symbolLearning intention: We are learning to write a recount.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I write an introduction, followed by the events and a conclusion of our meeting at my uncles house.

On Sunday, my family and I went to my uncle's house to have a meeting. The meeting was about my aunt's funeral.  Everyone who was inside the house wore black clothes because it was a sign of respect.

After the meeting, my cousins and I went to the hallway where it was uncomfortable to sit. We were so bored because we had nothing to do. Then my cousin (male) said, "If only we could make a video." After that, my cousin picked her phone up quickly and told us that we should make a music video. We were all so excited.

When we were all getting ready to make the video, we practised very quietly but quickly. Two of my cousins were the mean ones while three were the kind ones. The rest of us were the singers. We could not sing out loud so we had to lip sync. I almost mucked up the video because my two cousins (the mean ones) were very funny.

Then we were sent to the kitchen to help the mums to do the cooking and the preparation. The two boys (the ones who had the mean roles) were the ones that took all the food to the lounge. Two people was preparing the food from the stove, one was at the door to give the food to the boys, two people passed the food to me and another was the food from the stove to be prepared.

After all the men had eaten, one of my cousins told all of us to go. We all went into the lounge to give our uncle a kiss before we went. Then we all went outside to put our shoes on. We were all shivering when we were standing outside.

My favourite part was when we made a music video because my cousins made me laugh during the video. I couldn't stop  laughing afterwards. It was the best Sunday ever.
